To All Patients
General Practice has been chronically underfunded and we, as a small business can no longer afford to absorb rising costs across all elements of the practice and to provide quality care without increasing Fees. The rebate the government provides has fallen so far below the amount needed to safely run our clinic we are now forced to implement a fee for all those not on a healthcare card /concession card, or face cuts to the services we can provide.
When we bulk bill we are effectively taking a 50% discount from the AMA advised rate. This is no longer sustainable .
Please feel free to contact our local members of parliament to lobby for appropriate primary care funding to ensure we can maintain quality care at an affordable price for the community we care deeply about.
From 1st March 2022 – Changes to Fees during the hours of 8am to 6pm.
Children under 16 years
From 1st March 2022 our Practice can no longer Bulk Bill any children who do not have a concession card.
If no concession card there will be a fee of $67.00 for children under 16 years for all Standard Consultations.
The fee is broken down as such $67.00 fee will incur a rebate of $39.10 for everyone with a medicare card. The actual “out of pocket” fee will be $27.90.
New Patients
From 1st March 2022, we will be charging a Private Fee for the initial visit of all New Patients who have not attended our practice in the past. This fee will be an out of pocket cost to be paid by the New Patient at the time of the first visit.
All visits following the first visit will be charged as per our clinic fee policy.
Thank you
