I studied medicine in Trinity College Dublin and after completion of my medical degree I chose to go directly into the Irish vocational general Practice training scheme as I knew this was where my passion lay. I have a diploma in child health and a diploma in clinical psychiatry. I am also an examiner for the Royal Australian College of general practitioners.
I worked for a short time in Ireland before travelling the world and settling in Australia where I have now worked since 2002. I enjoy all aspects of general practice and feel it is a very privileged job to have, to be allowed gain such insights into people’s lives and be in a position to provide care, help and guidance.
I have particular interests in women’s health , paediatrics, mental health, and preventative healthcare. I enjoy doing minor surgery and am happy to do skin cancer checks and skin lesion biopsies and excisions.
I also work in The Royal Children’s hospital in the GP clinic in the Emergency department.
I love exploring my adopted country and am a crafter and mother of 2 energetic kids.
